Glass user interfaces...Really such a crystal clear thing?

Our head of development, Jens Kieselbach, addresses this question in a new series of blogs on the subject of "capacitive user interfaces".

From the keyboard to the screen

Almost all of us have to use a PC or a laptop on a daily basis. Hardly anyone stops to think about how the letters and signs entered on the keyboard get to the monitor. So, let us accompany them on their journey…

“DOES THE KEYBOARD NOT HAVE A TOUCH PAD? “YES, BUT IT’S OPERATING AS A NUMERIC KEYPAD AT THE MOMENT …”

At first sight, it sounds like a physical impossibility. Where there is an object, no other object can exist. In line with this theory, you cannot have a touch pad on a keyboard precisely where the numeric keypad is located. But that is exactly what we have done – because we believed we could – and because we managed it in the end.
